Coronado Gas Co-op is a not-for-profit organization that provides a cheap and reliable alternative of heating for people outside in the Northeast part of Sturgeon County, AB. Being a not-for-profit organization Coronado lacked the resources for getting a professional identity that was more modern and one that would stand out.
This logo was chosen after a meeting with Coronado Gas Co-op in which we presented three ideas that ranged from literal to abstract. This logo is a more simplified and organic icon compared to the original logo, which was a two-colour flame. The blue was chosen as the sole colour as it represents a healthy burning natural gas flame, which connects with the service provided by Coronado Gas Co-op.
One concern with the old logo that the board members, office manager, and operations manager had was safety of their workers out in the field. With the new logo we put ease to their concern with creating a logo that is now bolder, legible, and easily recognizable to see from a distance.
